Common Questions

Detail & Ceramic Coatings FAQs

What is paint correction?

Paint correction is the process of removing surface imperfections — swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, and oxidation — using machine polishing. The goal is to restore clarity, depth, and gloss to the paint surface.

Do I need paint correction before ceramic coating?

Yes, in most cases. Ceramic coating locks in whatever condition the paint is in when it's applied. Correcting the paint first ensures the coating enhances a refined finish rather than sealing in imperfections.

What is ceramic coating?

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer that bonds to the paint surface and creates a durable, semi-permanent layer of protection. It adds gloss, makes the surface easier to clean, and helps resist light swirls, chemicals, and environmental contaminants.

How long does ceramic coating last?

With proper maintenance, a quality ceramic coating can last up to 5 years. Longevity depends on the product used, how the vehicle is washed, and environmental exposure.

What is the difference between ceramic coating and PPF?

Ceramic coating adds gloss and makes the surface easier to maintain, but it does not provide physical protection against rock chips or road debris. PPF (paint protection film) is a physical barrier that absorbs impacts and self-heals from light scratches. Many customers choose both — correction first, then PPF and/or ceramic coating.

What products do you use?

We select professional-grade compounds, polishes, and coatings for your paint's condition and finish goals. Product selection is confirmed for your service.

Can I get just a ceramic coating without paint correction?

Yes. If your paint is already in good condition, a ceramic coating can be applied after proper decontamination and prep without a full correction. We'll assess the paint and recommend the right approach for your vehicle.
